Our Values
Gospel
The gospel is literally the “good news” of God’s grace (undeserved kindness) to sinful people through Jesus Christ. The gospel announces that our Creator has become our Redeemer (Romans 5:6-11). Jesus Christ has shielded us from God’s wrath by becoming our substitute, receiving the penalty for our sin, and by conquering death in His resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 4:24-25). We believe the gospel is both the starting point of the Christian life, and the means by which we grow at every point.
Worship
The gospel frees us to worship He who can satisfy. People worship what they treasure most. As redeemed children of God, we desire that our entire lives would be pleasing offerings of worship before King Jesus (Romans 12:1; 2 Corinthians 2:15). It is our hope that the gospel continues to lead us into passionate worship of Jesus, both when we are gathered corporately and scattered on mission.
Prayer
The gospel removed the barrier of our guilt through sin. Through Christ we now have access to communicate to God in prayer. In desperate anticipation, we long to be driven by prayer because it is the power for all of life and a reflection of our absolute dependence upon Christ for all things (Philippians 4:6-8; Ephesians 6:16-17).
Community
The gospel creates a new community where we as the church grow together in grace (Ephesians 4:11-13). Therefore, we will daily pursue deep, transparent, authentic relationships within the church for the purposes of mutual growth, encouragement and care (Hebrews 3:13; 10:24-25).
Compassion
Nothing promotes peace and restoration in our city like the spread of the gospel (Colossians 1:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:18-19). Stirred up by the gospel, compassion for people drives us to lay down our lives for the poor, diseased, abused, and brokenhearted (Psalm 147:1-3; Jeremiah 22:16; Matthew 25:31-46; Galatians 2:10).
Multiplication
As God restores people to Himself through the gospel, we will give ourselves to sending disciples into our city, nation and world to plant and help others plant new churches. It is our hope that the truth of the gospel will reach to all people groups of the world. To that end we are committed to go, to give, to send, and to pray (Romans 10:14-15; John 17:18; Acts 13:1-3).
